If you put too much stock

in whether another human being

is proud of you—

please be forewarned

that stock prices are volatile

and sometimes even manipulated

to the point that

they cannot be trusted anyway.

    This is true. Being proud of ourselves, the person we are. I think that’s fundamental. Praise from others feels nice, but cannot substantiate core confidence.
