Mission:
By Summer’s end, play a round of golf that reflects my practice, focus and earned skill—and leaves me proud.
Wellness Why(s):
Physical – Attempt to master the kinetic chain in a new arena. And, walking the course —> mega steps!
Social – Play nice with friends on the golf course—once I make friends on the golf course.
Environmental — Golf is in the GREAT OUTDOORS, right?
Financial – Free golf (and cart rental) is a benefit of one of my part-time jobs. Thus, the more I golf, the higher my hourly rate—or something like that?!?

The Nuts & Bolts:
The AI (Generated) Stairway
(with my own thoughts added in ORANGE)
1. Define “Proud” in Measurable Terms
Don’t leave it vague.
- Target Score: ≤40 on 9
- Fairways Hit / Greens in Regulation
- Fewer “blow-up” holes (cap doubles—you make this sound easy).
2. Build a Simple Weekly Golf Rhythm
Not more—consistent.
- 1 range session (mechanics)
- 1 short game session (scoring)
- 1 round or 9 holes (application)
You don’t need more reps—you need repeatable reps.
I’m thinking that I DO NEED MORE REPS.
3. Make Short Game Your Edge
This is where pride lives.
- 50% of Practice = Putting + Chipping
- “Up-and-Down” Game: 10 balls; track how many you save.
- Note to Self—Look up how to play this so called “Up-and-Down” game.
- Lag Putting > Hero Putting
- Being the hero is more fun.
You can outscore better athletes here.
Hmmm—what if I’M the better athlete in the equation?
4. Play With a “No Blow-Up Hole” Rule
Your round isn’t lost—it’s leaked.
- When in Trouble → Automatic Conservative Shot
- Punch Out > Miracle
- Bogey is acceptable. Doubles are the ceiling.
Discipline > Talent.
But again, Fun (Miracle) > Not Fun (Punch Out).
Unless we’re talking about the original Nintendo game Punch-Out?!?

5. Create a Pre-Shot Routine You Trust
Same every time:
- Pick Target
- One Rehearsal
- Commit and Go
No standing over the ball thinking. You’re an athlete—act, don’t linger.
This, I can handle. I got you 100.
6. Track 3 Simple Stats After Every Round
Keep it light, but honest:
- Fairways Hit
- Putts
- Blow-Up Holes (based on score or temper?)
This builds awareness without turning it into a spreadsheet obsession.
7. Train Focus Like It Matters (Because It Does)
You don’t need more swing thoughts—you need better presence.
- One cue per round (tempo, target, or breath).
- Reset between shots (walk = mental reset).
- The correct answer to the above poll is Option A.
- No emotional carryover hole to hole.
Golf is a focus sport disguised as a skill sport.
8. Schedule 2–3 “Intentional Rounds”
Not casual. Not social.
Note to Self—Scratch Social Well-Being as an objective from above.
- Play solo or with purpose.
- Keep score seriously.
- Treat it like a performance, not an outing.
These are your proof rounds.
But first/soon, get new golf clubs such that I don’t have a 20 year old set of golf clubs as an excuse!!
