To Whom It May Concern and FWIW,*
- I needed for my co-worker to bring flowers for my fellow co-worker Lori and I because it was a thoughtful gesture (his daughter is in floristry and she had them leftover from the weekend).
- That said, I needed to not have lost a bet to this same co-worker for the 3rd week in a row such that it felt more like I bought these flowers for myself:

- I need not be miles and miles behind (in part because I calculated wrong 🙄) on my 666 goal when lower back pain like never experienced before set in.
- I needed to rest (just ask my Garmin Forerunner!) and needed to give myself a bonus week to attain the 666 goal. I did both.
- I need not have bought two individually priced top of the line golf balls in order to try them out and then lost one on the 10th tee box, which is your 1st tee box when only golfing the back 9, and the other ball just a few holes later (on holes that were specifically chosen to play non lake balls because there are few places to actually lose a non lake ball).
- I needed for one of my co-workers to seek out the ball from my 10th tee box bloodbath blunder and for three of my co-workers to bring me lake and non lake balls in replacement of.

- I needed for not 1, but 5 triathletes to OVER PERFORM per their own and our expectations (and for the record, my expectations are pretty much always overly hopeful to the point of not even being rational). 👊👊👊👊👊
- You needed to see Stephanie’s face when she was told her resulting time! One year ago, she finished the same race in 2:05. This year, her goal was to be between 1:50 and 2 hours. Her time was 1:35!!!! 🤯 👏

- I needed for my daughter to create a post that continues to crack 🥚 me up:

- When accidentally planning a trip that overlaps with our daughter’s Homecoming Dance, I needed for their response to be:

- And if you’re still trying to figure out the crazy creatine conversion, you need to look significantly closer at ☝️ picture.
- I need to be less impressed with myself as a writer, athlete, coach, employee, daughter, parent, spouse, etc., because there sometimes seems a “death jump” sized gap between my own opinion of myself and that of others: 🤣

“You’re not worthy of a raise (or x, or y, or z).”
“The only person laughing at your jokes is you.”
“Good job! You should…..”
“Men want women that….(fill in the blank with things that I am not).”
“Why do you….(fill in the blank with things that I am)?”
The AI woman looks bitter. At any given time, I may or may not possess some underlying bitterness depending on the stage of my irregular imbecilic menstrual cycle.
- With the wellness goal in mind to enjoy nature (“Do you want to step outside?” post), I needed to take 5 to live in this moment:

- I needed for a conversation with my colleague to play out differently:
Me: My family and I are headed to Mexico in a few weeks.
Colleague: Fun!!!
A few minutes later….
Colleague: Whereabouts do you live?
😳
I appreciate your readership. I need the validation as writer; if there is a like or heart icon for you to depress, I’d most appreciate the support!
Sincerely,

* The content is presented as “needs”, and some of them may front a harsh reality that evoke strong emotions. Others are expressed in pure jest to entertain myself (and maybe you?!?). Ultimately, the notion that we all live in a more idyllic world is at the core and not actual need. Life can be tough; regardless of your own circumstances, please keep up the fight because life can also be grand! The idea of ‘I Need…’ stemmed from my thought process while sitting at a red light listening to the song, Alright by Darius Rucker, on the radio (you can read the original ‘Idealist’ post here and all ‘Idealist’ posts here). If you’re inspired to submit your own ‘Idealist’ “needs” for future reader write-in posts, I’d love to hear from you via this form.
