Mission:

To master my own mind.

Wellness Why(s):

Primary: Emotional

Secondary: Mastering my own mind is an intellectual skill and will presumably help my relationships, performance as an athlete, and decision making so I’m thinking that the secondary enhancements to my wellness would be all-inclusive.

For each and every one of us, the answer is more likely to be the ever despised multiple choice answers that teachers call upon to incite stupefaction:

E, D, K and T

C, L and S

A, D, J and S

A, B, D, G, I, J, K, L, N and R

But, they, and specifically, Remez Sasson, say:

“Your mind is your instrument. Learn to be its master and not its slave.”

I think my own mind is strong, but you should take that with a grain of salt because it’s….

Meta Cognitive: thinking about your thinking

Regardless of the current state, I know that my mind can be fitter. I strive to be monk like. To cut the chaos that seems to stick or seep in. To sail smoothly despite waves or a storm. To just be. To separate mind from matter. To control that which I can control, and no more. To master my own mind!

And admittedly, in part because….

This much is clear…

Who: Me

What: Master my own mind.

Where: Wherever life takes me.

When: Now

Why: Well-Being (my own and perhaps yours if mine impacts you)

How: T.B.D.

Update On:

When/if I ever reach DoD (Definition of Done), which I’m going to define as…

when difficult thoughts no longer run the show or dictate my behavior or mood, but rather, run through me instead of taking up residency

For the record, ChatGPT helped me to button up that ⬆️ definition. And provided a fitting concluding quote.

You’ve mastered your mind when you no longer need to prove that you have.
