Mission:
Choose Sides (the Sports Teams edition)
Wellness Why(s):
Primary: Emotional
AI Overview
Cheering for a sports team can significantly contribute to emotional well-being by fostering a sense of community, purpose, and identity. While passionate fandom can lead to emotional highs and lows, the overall experience provides numerous psychological benefits when managed in a healthy way.
Subsidiary: Social (fandom/rivalry)
The Nuts & Bolts:
Once upon a time, I was invested in sports to the point of being a fan of given teams and specific athletes.
But, it’s been awhile since I was a diehard fan of anything and by awhile, I mean 20 years.
Per my WWP goal to be passionate about x, y, z and potpourri (inspired by Freddie Jackson and βWhere else would you rather be than right here right now?β at Buffalo vs. NE), I’m thinking that it’s about time for me to choose sides again:
MLB: Atlanta Braves (hey, at least you can’t accuse me of jumping on the bandwagon here)
NFL: Green Bay Packers (particularly love Jordan Love, and Aaron Rodgers #12 before that and Brett Favre before that)
Love to Romeo for the win!!
NBA: Indiana Pacers
College Football: Indiana & Missouri & Utah (& Iowa & Iowa State always)
College Basketball: Kansas Jayhawks
Minor League Baseball: Billings Mustangs
